Back to Work

I have been back to work for 3 weeks now and I feel like our little family is starting to fall into a routine. It is SO nice that I don't have to pack the girls up and drop off and pick up everyday. Something about having them at home is so comforting to me.

Carli is really doing well in school. She has made a few sweet friends that she looks forward to seeing. I have noticed that she is taking an interest in reading and letters. She is so smart and I love to see her learn new things and grow. I am not sure when she turned into a little girl though....I swear they look bigger every day.

Side by side of the girls at about 4 months old....I love that they have the same beautiful
 eyes!

Although I have always tried to appreciate the time as it passes by SO QUICKLY. I really find myself savoring my weekends now that I am working all week. I am not big on resolutions but this year more than any before, I am really going to try to stick to a few.

More memory making, less social media
More new recipes, less donuts.
More date nights, less obligations.
More presence, less multi-tasking
More praying, less worrying
More intention, less clutter.
More LOVE,  less everything else.

Kennedy is 3 months old!!

I don't know how it is possible! Kennedy turned 3 months old on December 30th. Carli was ready to celebrate so we blew up a few balloons and scattered them around the house!

We didn't have a check up this month so we don't know exactly how much she weighs but by jumping on the scale...with and without her...I am guessing around 13lbs. She is such a cuddle bug and loves to be held and walk around...taking it all in!

She is so happy and loves to smile and coo. Carli and I are convinced we have heard her utter "ok" "mama" and "hi". Baby genius I am sure!!
She almost always calms down from crying if big sister sings to her and this baby LOVES having her diaper changed. She immediately starts smiling and giggling.

She has just started to really notice the bottle and gets excited when she sees it...or sometimes she just stares at it intently until we feed her. She wants to be in control and will hold on tight to the bottle or a hand to be sure you aren't going to take it away.

She is also a big fan of bath time. We recently removed the infant hammock thing in her tub so now she is fully in the water and loving it!

We have a few pictures of her holding up her finger as #1....maybe she will be a cheerleader!

My favorite picture of the week!! My sweet babies!
Happy 3 Month Birthday Kennedy Elise!

Christmas Vacation....

We had a wonderful "break" over the holidays. I was so excited to have Nick home for a few weeks and with all the excitement of Santa our house was full of Christmas spirit.

Carli invited the neighbor girls over for cookie decorating and art projects. They had so much fun and it was a nice break for the mom's to enjoy a glass of vino!! We also discovered snapchat and have had a blast playing with all the filters.

As always, Christmas flew by but we all enjoyed the time with family and friends. We attended Christmas Eve family service and Carli played an angel in a live nativity. It was so sweet.
Our girls must have been VERY good this year b/c Santa delivered!!

Here is Dr. Carli Groves in her white coat! Mom and Dad and hoping to see this one play out some day....

Kennedy and Carli both rocked PJ's all day on Christmas. It was so nice to be home and cozy...playing with new toys and eating yummy treats!

Uncle Shane and Aunt Megan got a few cuddles before it was time to tear into presents and Grandma and Papaw's house. She tried SO hard to be patient but I know she was ready to burst!

We have tried really hard to spend special alone time with Carli during the transition to big sister. We hit the nail salon on NYE for fancy nails and she decided (on her own) that she wanted buckeye colors in celebration of the Fiesta Bowl later that day!

As much fun as we had....we also needed to rest and recoup. We spent a few days in comfy clothes, locked in the house with new toys, leftovers, and naps.
I love that they were holding hands in their sleep....forever friends!

Kennedy and Carli both stayed up for the Buckeye game but didn't make it to midnight this year! We did our 2017 toast the next morning!!

Happy New Year!

Life with girly girls

My little fashionista's love being fancy and we go all out in December with fun holiday outfits!

Carli has also reached the age where she asks to have her picture taken. Maybe because she has had a camera in her face from birth or maybe because she just likes to look at photo's of herself. Either way, I am happy to oblige.

Here are just a few of my favorites lately:

We are so fancy!!
